It was Saturday morning December 9, 2006… I brought the things we needed for our Nanami Booth on AME MATSURI. It was held in UP Bahay ng Alumni. The cardboard calendar posters for utility use (I brought too much..), a ream of bond paper for the on-the-spot drawing commissions, the games to be introduced, the prints to be sell and of course… the TARPAULINE PRINT for the booth (A must to bring!)
I got on the campus grounds just in time. But when I got there, my paperbag full of items suddenly looses its one thread so I got a hard time bringing the things to the place. At the Bahay of Alumni, I saw Yuirei, Meru-chan and Touhou Boy doing the arrangements on the booth. I approached them and showed the tarpauline they thought it won’t be finished on time. Hehehe, they really liked even though it’s a collage. Next year I’m going to make the tarp if ever there will be a next one.
A few moments, Power-J arrived; I showed him the tarp I made for their group.

He likes it very much. A very cute tarp, hehe.
A few hours later of preparation, the event was officially started, hundreds of people went inside the place buying stuff, visiting booths, meeting with other peeps and of course, eating food on the left side of the Bahay ng Alumni.
Giveaways, Contests like karaoke singing, cosplay/ group cosplay, and others were featured in the event. Also, the fanart contest gallery on the second floor where the entries were displayed. I passed two entries there, Entry #8 and #9. They were other good entries as well. I think I saw Trinity Blood and Tales of the Abyss fanart.
While the events happen, our booth featured 3 doujin games for attraction, Eternal Fighter Zero Bad Moon Edition, 東方萃夢想: Immaterial and Missing Power and Melty Blood. Many people tried playing it and they were amazed at the game. We imposed a rule wherein the loser will be replaced by a challenger to make things fair.
From time to time I played the games. I play good at EFZ by using Dopple Nanase (this chara fights like Terry Bogard and has a super move that resembles God Finger, G Gundam’s special move.) and Touhou: IaMP wherein I only used Hong Meiling, the chara that all thought was the “weakest” due to her lack of projectile and long-ranged attacks. And using her is something quite insulting according to other players. But they were amazed because despite of my favorite character’s disadvantage, I can fight them and inflict heavy damage on them. Hong Meiling is the only chara in Touhou: IaMP who can do normal attack combos and chain it to spell card moves that the rest of the charas can’t do, since they are depending on the long range attacks and can only combo projectile attacks like shooting a machine gun. Sometimes I lose the fight but I leave them with less than an inch of their life bar. Now that’s what a “weak” one can do when unleashed its full potential!
While the games are played, Meru-chan, Switchco and Inami do their on-the-spot-commissions. While me, Yuirei, Power-J and Touhou Boy guarding (sometimes playing) the booth.
The night arrives. And the highlights of the event got started. Cosplay Catwalk, Group Cosplay skits, bands performing, and the awarding ceremony. On the Cosplay competition, the Majin Buu from Dragon Ball Z cosplayer won first place. (I saw the steam coming from the holes on his head!
) I felt very nervous of who’s gonna win the Fanart contest. Announcing the third, second… and the first place winner is the… #8th entry! I won the first prize! I got 3000Php cash prize, an Animax white cap, a cellphone / key strap, Animax notebook and a calendar.
It’s my second win on the fanart contest. If there’s a next year, I’ll definitely join again but I have to think of a new and a unique entry that’ll make them… nostalgic.
After the awarding ceremony, the second batch of bands performed. We packed our things at the Nanami Booth and played the last playing minutes of Touhou: IaMP.
After the closing, the FIREWORKS DISPLAY started outside the Bahay ng Alumni. Though it drizzled, it didn’t stop the fireworks. It’s a very good view…
The event ended up very enjoying despite of the weather. If there will be another UP AME event next year, I’m sure, it’ll be more enjoyable!
Oh before I end this journal, I like to add something from the event. I came across a booth on the second floor beside the fishing booth (I can’t remember the name of that booth) wherein you’ll know if the good luck or the bad luck is on your side. I tried it for fun. And what I got is…
大吉: Approach him/ her now!
I’m thinking what it means… maybe its… I think I know who the person I must approach is! I’m thinking about her recently because I want to give her the chara I made for her in A3 size print. She’s my inspiration and also my current love interest.
Oh another thing! Here’s the progress of my “what-if?” from the last journal post. Just click the image for the full view.

Only one thing is missing… the sprites.
Next to do is the enemy selection screenshot.
Well, that’s it for now. It’s a long post for a long but enjoyable day!
